WE WANT YOUR PHOTOS!

Abrams, one of the most respected companies in publishing, will be releasing a comprehensive illustrated history on Al's life and career in late 2012. Many of the photographs that will be used in the book will come from our extensive archives... but we're hoping to unearth some new treasures. So we'd like to invite you to submit your own photos and artwork for consideration to be included in the book!

You may submit anything you think would be of interest: candid photos of Al, concert shots that capture a great moment on stage, photos of any special Al-related artwork you have done, or anything else that's just plain cool or unusual. We especially welcome anything from earlier in Al's career.

Here's how to submit:

  1. Please submit no more than 3 photos.

  2. Save each photo as a low-res jpeg file, and under 150k if possible. We only need to view the photos at this time.

  3. Name each photo as your email address followed by an underscore and the number 1(or 2 or 3 if you're submitting more than one photo.) Example: alfan@emailaddy.com_1. This way, if at some point they become separated from your emails, we will know where they came from!

  4. Each photo needs to be sent in its own email.* Please include a description of the photo, the date it was taken (approximate date is fine), where it was taken, who took it, who and/or what is in it, and anything special or significant that would warrant its consideration.

  5. Attach your jpeg and send your email to: alphotos@weirdal.com.

  6. If you have any questions, please send them to the same email address, and write "QUESTION" in the subject line. Please send only questions relating to photo solicitations.

If we select any of your images, we will contact you with instructions on how to provide us with the best quality version of your photo and forward you a form granting us permission to use it. No payment is being offered, but you will receive photo credit along with the satisfaction of knowing that your work is immortally enshrined in this incredible book!

All submissions must be received by June 1, 2011.

* If you previously sent multiple photos in one email, you will not need to re-send them separately :)
