Duncan Stewart says:
Weird Alís Friday night audio-visual extravaganza was a spectacle-and-a-half. Backed by an all-star band, Al soared through a collection of tunes both old and new, highlighted by a twenty minute medley that consisted of a collage of songs, including a couple that donít appear on any album. Most of the full songs were accented by costume changes and I was thrilled to see the band suddenly materialise in those yellow plastic radiation suits and swimming goggles for Dare To Be Stupid. A close second was the grunge rocker outfits for Smells Like Nirvana. Although Al maintained an incredibly high level of energy throughout, he was almost outdone by Ruben. Alís no idiot thought, so before things got out of hand, Al shot him.

Backstage was unreal. While everyone else who had won passes (and there were quite a few of them) stood in line for half an hour to meet Al, my buddy Chris and I went and chatted with the band. Ruben, who made a surprisingly quick recovery from what looked like a potentially fatal gunshot wound, got a kick out of Chrisí megaphone and used it to advertise his superiority over the rest of the band. With breasts like those, how can there be any competition?

Meeting Al himself was one of those experiences that I will never forget, kind of like graduating from high school or your first kiss, only more important. You could tell that he was exhausted after a long night, but being the true entertainer that he is, he kept up the enthusiasm throughout the extensive autograph session. He even signed Chrisí megaphone. Thanks for everything guys, it was everything I could have hoped for.

Vicki "Teri" Brown from Woodstock says:
I was blown away with the show, Al fans that have yet to see him and the band perform are in for a great treat. The lite show and costume changes were amazing. It was great to hear Al to do so many of his older songs. "Like A Surgeon" truth or dare version is still my highlite of the live setting, Ruben really knows how to wear a cone bra!!! I was very impressed on how tight sounding the entire band performed, and how good everyone looked.

During the backstage setting everyone was so friendly, and happy to take pictures and do signings. Everyone made my 8 year old daughter Crystal feel so comfortable, as she was so nervous before hand. It was a nite to remember for the both of us. I just wanted to thanks Steve and Jim for the added signatures to my Al tattoo, now I can say it is complete. I know Bermuda was feeling under the weather, but he still made a point of hanging around backstage to say hi to everyone, I just wanted to say thank you and I hope you are feeling better soon. I had a great time and thank you everyone for making this a very special nite. I look forward to seeing the performance in Kitchener.

Chase Sulyma says:
I thought the "Running with Scissors" concert was awsome. I went to Al's last concert (Bad Hair Day) and I didn't think that it could be outdone but I was wrong! The Band sounded great and Al was awsome as usual. My favourite part was when they sang the "SagBegins" and "Yoda". Well keep up the good work guys! Bermuda you rock!

October 20, 1999 - Walker Theatre, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Jessey Camara says:
To say the least the concert was fantastic. My wife Natalie and I had a great time. The music was great, the costumes fantastic and the effects incredible. I really liked the effect of snow during "The Night Santa Went Crazy"

I had a great time at the Bad Hair Day concert, however, I believe Touring with scissors was better. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing you next time you come to Winnipeg.

Bob Emery says:
How does one describe a Weird Al concert? More costume changes than Cher.

More intensity than Robin Williams after a double cappuchino. A level of precision that is matched by only the finest military drill teams. And finally, showmanship that would have P.T. Barnum dropping is jaw in disbelief.

My Wife Gail and I attended our third Weird Al concert on October 20th, and once again we were blown away by the whole show. It was great to see Al performing old standards like One More Minute and Dare to be Stupid, as well as songs from almost every album. Imagine our surprise when during One Minute, Al sat down in Gail's lap and proceeded to drape one of his "specially scented" scarves around her neck!!!

Back stage after the show, Al was kind enought to sign the scarf, as well as a few other items, and he posed with both of us for a couple of pictures.

October 17, 1999 - Shaw Conference Centre, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

David Carlsen says:
Last night's concert was the third Weird Al concert I've ever been to, and it was the first for my girlfriend, Joanne. It was amazing.

Al started off with tremendous energy, and only became more energetic from there. He played some songs from the new album, such as "It's all about the Pentiums" and an amazingly well-enunciated "Jerry Springer." Then he went on to do some older favourites from the early '90s. A medley of what may be deemed classic Al ensued, with such standouts as "Another One Rides the Bus" and "I Lost on Jeopardy." The costume changes were quickly done, and the on-screen entertainment kept everyone in the crowd entertained between songs.

One of the best moments in the show, for me, was during "One More Minute." Al, as per usual, jumped off the stage and walked amongst the crowd, singing his song of lost love and leaving souvenirs for some lucky ladies. Then he came in our direction, and I saw the look in his eye: he was coming our way. He looked deeply into Joanne's eyes, reached into his pants, pulled out a pair of silk boxer shorts, and tossed them to her, making her the envy of every Al-gal in the crowd.

After this great concert, some of us were taken downstairs to meet up with Al and have him sign autographs and have pictures taken. As is customary, Al was extremely courteous and accommodating to his adoring fans. He knows that it's the fans who love him, and he loves us right back. To all those who missed Al's show in Edmonton, Alberta, well, you missed a great show. Thanks go out to Al and the band for the opportunity to enjoy this concert. It's something Joanne and I will never forget.

October 16, 1999 - Max Bell Arena, Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Jim Pearson says:
Wow! That seem to be the best way to sum up Al's show in Calgary on October 16. It was the most fun I've ever had at a concert in years. It was also the first concert where I've seen in snow INDOORS during "The Night Santa Went Crazy".

The show was fantastic, the lighting excellent, and the little snippets of videos between sets were great! My favorite songs of all were of course the classic "Dare To Be Stupid" (love the video for that one), Al's take off of Allanis Moresette's "Thank You" (what a scream!), and the classic "Smells Like Nirvana"! (Don't forget of course, "The Night Santa Went Crazy"!!)

Also, meeting Al backstage was great! Many thanks to Bermuda!!

T-t-t-t-t-that's all folks!!

October 14, 1999 - G.M. Place, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Babis Roussinos says:
I have just returned to Victoria the day after the Vancouver show on October 14th. My friends and I were excited to meet Al after the show and we went to many stores trying to find a "glow in the dark snorkel" or a big pair of scissors for him to sign, but unfortunately we couldn't find any so we headed to the stadium. Then the fun and surprises began.

We arrived at our seats and the change room curtain was blocking our view of the stage. Because of this, the nice people at GM Place upgraded out tickets to right behind the hockey boards, about 40-50 feet away from the stage!!! Al and the band had a great show, and Al's voice was album perfect. No studio mastering here. In two hours they played 8 of the songs from RWS, and I was pleasently surprised to hear new parodies of Alanis's "Thank You", Celine's "My Heart...", and Offspring's "Gotta Keep 'em Seperated"; as well as some old favorites like "The Night Santa Went Crazy" (with a new verse), "Rocky Road", and others. Bermuda's "drum solo" was awsome, and I hope Ruben (Vince??) is okay after being shot by Al...TWICE!!!

I've seen Al once before and I can never get enough of the "Fat" costume. Jake Lloyd didn't show up for this one, but the Yoda chant got going pretty fast.

After the show, I went back stage with my friends, as well as the fan club, and radio contest winners. Despite the 30 or so people lined up for his autograph, and 2 hours of performing (talk about tired), Al was incredibly nice to everyone and took the time to sign CDs, T-Shirts, and take pictures. I also got a chance to talk with Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz and he too was very nice. They both signed my RWS and BHD covers, and Al also singed my backstage pass.

So anyway, I gues what I'm trying to say here in a round-about kind of way is, "I....HATE....SAUERKRAUT!!!". No...wait a minute....that's not it. What I'm REALLY trying to say is "if Weird Al does a show ANYWHERE near your home town...go buy tickets. Al and the band always put on an amazing show; you won't be dissapointed.

September 26, 1999 - Greek Theater, Los Angeles, CA

Erik Peterson says:
It was a night of suprises at the Greek last night. First, Al was introduced by none other than his mother, who was quite pleased to introduce her boy.

The show was great, of course, which was no suprise, with a wonderfully varied set that all the other lucky winners have chronicled quite well, although I must say that I disagree with those who wanted Albuquerque in the mix, because it would have taken away about twelve other songs. It's a nice reason to get the CD--the songs he DOES do are a great reason to go to the concert. The songs you can get at the concert that you can't get on CDs are just as fun, if not more so.

The final suprise came during the encore, when Al sang " . . . I guess I'll train this boy . . ." That's right--out from backstage came Darth Maul, who hacked Al into peices.

No! No! It was Jake Lloyd, the boy who played Annakin! He came out and sang the rest of that song and all of Yoda with Al, and, using his mystical Jedi powers, managed to get out of the way before getting smacked when the Yoda chant got a little wild.

A wonderful night of laughs.

Alan Bates says:
What a GREAT show! Weird Al, Jon, Jim, Steve and Ruben put on a very entertaining show as usual. The video bits were hilarious and it was a great surprise to have Jake Lloyd walk out on stage during the "Saga Begins."

It was my fifth time seeing Al in concert but it was my wife's first time. Actually, I pretty much had to drag her there, but she had a great time and is now an Al fan. She enjoyed the older songs just as much as the new ones (she never would listen to my album collection).

We were also very impressed with how personable Al and the guys were. We felt very comfortable around them and not the least bit intimidated. Jon made us seem very welcome.

Thanks for the T-shirts, hats, and everything.

We'll definitley be at many more shows to come.

September 22, 1999 - Performing Arts Center, San Luis Obispo, CA

Toby Barbour says:
If I had to chose one word for this concert it would be "PHENOMONAL". This RWS tour was way better than the BHD. I got goosebumps when Al started playing Polka Power. The sketches in between the sets were hillariously funny, although I do kind of miss the Paul McCartney interview. The setlist for the concert was fab, it was great hearing some of my favorite songs live. All about the Pentiums was awsome. Overall I loved the concert, it was a big plus getting to see him at his alma matter. But the biggest thrill of the evening was afterwords when I met AL and had him sign my copy of Running with siccors. P.S. Al's band rocks

August 30, 1999 - Evergren State Fair, Monroe, WA

Jeff Sargeant says:
Well, how can you not enjoy an Al show! I must admit I hadn't planned on going to this show, but entered the contest regardless. (I am glad I won because I would seriously regret having missed this show) Upon learning that I had one I immediatly went to get tickets. Sadly for Al's popularity, but good for me I was able to get fairly decent seats just 4 days before the show. I was quite close but too far to the left to see the screen, but it didn't upset me to much because being a UHF, ALTV and Weird Al Show fan I'd seen most of the clips before.

His set was complete. I didn't feel that he left anything out. The best part of the concert I'd have to say were Dare to Be Stupid in full yellow Vinyl, the Alanis Morrisette (sp?) and Celion Dion (sp?) Parodies. But I really loved the story his Mother told him. I couldn't help, but shout "Oh, my God they've killed Ruben".

I lost my voice from screaming even before the medley began, how can you help but give Al a cheering standing ovation after every song.

At this concert I think Al gained foot into the hard rock/rap crowd of Salem. Down in the front right was a group of guys that were getting into all of Al's rap and hard rock songs. During the first encore (Saga Begins) one of them hopped up on stage and hugged Al soon to be ushered off.

The only disappointing thing about this show was the abscence of the beloved guitar, bass, and keyboard solos, although Ruben did seem to add one unannounced at the end.

After the concert it was great to be pulled out of the crowd by Bermuda to be given our shirts, hats and photos, thanks Berm.

Al was friendly, despite being tired and voice-wary after nearly TWO HOURS of singing, and gladly signed my RWS and photo.

It was a bit harder to get the bands autographs though, Berm was right there talking to me, Steve was on his way out, Jim was having a beer BACKSTAGE and Ruben was on his way over to ride the skycoaster (How was it?) All friendly and great. Thanks guys.

As for my friend, (just to get his name in) Colin Gray, before I invited him, I wasn't sure whether he was a fan or not, not quite the as big a fan as anyone reading this page, but he was exstatic when I told him about the concert and the BACKSTAGE PASSES. Now he's definately a fan.

Eric Gjovaag says:
What can I say that hasn't already been said here? Al, Bermuda, Ruben, Steve, and Jim seemed to be in fine form again in Monroe. The weather was a bit threatening -- a few lightning bolts lit up the clouds during the show -- but we were lucky, the rain held off while we were there. (Good thing we were there, our home town was pelted with the worst hailstorm the region has seen in years!) Lots of energy, lots of fun on stage. Al sounded great and was obviously enjoying himself, like when he commented on the "upcoming" holiday season right before the "snow" fell leading up to "The Night Santa Went Crazy." And that entire grandstand waving their arms together during "Amish Paradise" was a sight to behold, I'd love to know how it looked from the stage (and I wish I'd brought a lighter). This show was shorter than the last time I saw them (Seattle in 1997), but I think they packed in just as many songs, or at least parts of them. I did miss "Like a Surgeon" (I suspect Ruben didn't!) and "Dare to Be Stupid," but the new stuff made up for it. "The Toppings Will Go On," a pizza-delivery-themed takeoff of "My Heart Will Go On," AKA "That Annoying Song from 'Titanic,'" I found especially amusing, since I delivered pizza myself one year to make ends meet. (Al, I hope you can get permission to do it on the next album, this one is terrific!) And the "Star Wars" suite -- "The Saga Begins" and "Yoda" -- that they did as a closing encore was great. Some audience members had brought their lightsabers for this! Nice additions to The Chant, by the way. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the video material, including several clips from "The Weird Al Show" (his "appearance" on "The Flintstones" was a big hit) and a great one from "King of the Hill." As before, it all worked well as bridging material during costume changes, and even introductions to songs.

After the show, everyone was obviously tired (don't blame them, this is a high energy show, and they're doing it HOW MANY TIMES a week?), but very gracious and willing to sign a couple of autographs or pose for a picture or two. Now I have a photo of my wife's favorite band member, Ruben, kissing her! Anyway, thanks, guys, for a great show, we'll try to see you next time you're in the neighborhood.

Laura Gjovaag adds:
Weird Al was greeted to Seattle with special effects courtesy of Mother Nature. Not only did one of the wildest hailstorms in memory hit the area as he performed (headlines the next morning: "Freak hail storm pummels area", "Summer weather has gone straight to hail"), but Al's music was punctuated by a background of lightning that often managed to be in time with the music! Luckily for the fans, the storm was a few miles to the south and missed the outdoor performance area entirely.

But Al somehow managed to outperform Mother Nature for the capacity crowd at the Evergreen State Fair. His energetic medleys and polkas had the crowd on their feet at times, and the audience was definitely into the music. The pizza delivery song to the tune of that annoying Titanic song was wonderful and ought to be on an album. "The Night Santa Went Crazy", complete with fake snow, made my day. The video accents and bubbles with the polka had me laughing until I cried. For the encore, Al and company performed "The Saga Begins" and "Yoda", both show stoppers and both very well received. Although the performance was a little short, it was packed with energy and fun.

Going backstage was an interesting experience. There weren't a lot of people back in "the Tent", and we got to talk with every band member at some point (and get autographs). Al was endlessly patient with the folks who wanted to bask in his presence, despite being clearly tired. Bermuda... man, does he ever stop?!? Overall, a great concert with a lot of bonuses for us lucky winners. Thanks Bermuda, thanks Al!

Jeff Troy says:
The concert was great, both of us seeing him live for the first time. A lot of energy, and we were both impressed by the multimedia show. Amazing that 14 people total could put on that kind of show.

The unreleased songs in the medley were a touch of genius. Too bad Offspring wouldn't give you guys laundry day. That would have rocked.

Bermuda, you are too much. Take a vacation. Please. I worry for your blood pressure.

August 29, 1999 - Oregon State Fair, Salem, OR

Jon Tennis says:
First, Thank You for the hats, t-shirts, and also coordinating the whole contest thing. This may sound weird but I knew I was going to win. It's great that you would do something so cool for your fans. You are a true Superstar. You made me and my son, Christopher, feel like a "close personal friend of Jon" and gave us an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. Maybe longer?

As a musician myself, I am always impressed with the quality of the musicianship displayed by you guys. For me, a Weird Al concert, It's all about the music, baby. Incredible vocals backed up by an awesome rhythm section. The original material is always my favorite. Al is a top notch songwriter besides being a brilliant comedian/satirist. I was amazed to find out that you don't use a click track or Midi Sync to coordinate the music with the video.

Backstage I talked to Steve for awhile about his SG bass. He said he bought it because it reminded him of when he first started playing music. "Back then, everyone had one". I told him about my bass player friend who leaned his SG up against a door so when the drummer came in, the bass fell over and the neck snapped off the body. We cringed together and then it was on to meet Al.

Meeting Al was a lot like going to see Santa Claus. We stood in a line of about 50 people and when it was our turn to sit on Als' lap, he graciously signed our stuff, posed for a picture, and off we went with our wish having coming true.

Casey Winslow says:
I'm from Clarkston Wasington, and I attended the concert in Kellogg Idaho. The concert was the absolute best!! It was the very most exciting time of my life!! I got to meet Al backstage and he was so cool. The whole experience was a dream come true.

August 27, 1999 - Antelope Valley Fair, Lancaster, CA

Merry from La Canada, CA says:
Well, it was simply awesome! We were in the 3rd row almost center stage and were so glad that "AL" included quite a few songs from the "Running With Scissor's" album. (We did miss "Albuquerque" though!) We were also so glad that there were so many songs that we loved from previous albums. Although they were only part of a medley, it was so much fun to see & hear them performed again live on stage!

The new video segments were great too! The only bad thing bad I can say was, the concert was just TOO SHORT! Of course that wasn't the band's fault, you had to share the stage with another act. (As always at these fair venues!) It only makes me & my whole family much more anxious to see you all again at the Greek Theatre in L.A. later this month, 'cause we can't wait to see the whole show!!!!

Thanks again, to Weird AL & his GREAT BAND. You are the best Rock & Roll show ever, anywhere!!

August 24, 1999 - California State Fair, Sacramento, CA

Katie from Dixon, CA. says:
The night was sultry, the food was bad, and everywhere there were large animals mooing, farting, slobbering and squealing. But what more can one expect from the State Fair. Well, if you happened to be in Sacramento California last night you could expect a really great concert. Al did not disappoint us.

Several songs from "Running with Scissors" were in the set, including my personal favorite "Germs". Al does an excellent Trent Reznor impersonation. He had angst oozing form every pore.

The show was very energetic throughout. I loved seeing the new songs performed live, many with costumes, along with some of my favorites from past tours. I was glad to see "One More Minute" again. It's fun to watch Al interact with the audience. And, of course. "Fat" was as hilarious as ever with Al prancing around the stage looking like an enormous black potato with ridiculously short legs.

The highlight of the show for me was one of the video clips that was shown while the band was making a costume change. Al really out did himself this time. In a version of Prodigy's "Firestarter" that had me rolling in the aisle, he perfectly recreated Keith Flint's spaz-fest.

Most of all I enjoyed meeting Al and the band after the show. Even though it was still nearly 100 degrees outside and they were all obviously very hot and tired, they took the time to talk to us and sign everything we owned.

Thanks guys!

Tom adds:
"I heartily endorse this event or product!"
Michael Lawton says:
Wow! What a great show!! It was so cool how Al could put all those great songs in one show. The interviews on the screen were sooo funny! Afterward meeting Al and the band was the greatest. Everybody was so nice! Next to being born it was the best day of my life!
A song from Gil Peles
Well I went to the computer and turned it on one day
After spending the whole week carving Pat Sajack's head out of clay
Then when I clicked the program so I could check all my e-mail, a message said Gil-
If you could go to any concert in this great big state now whered you like to go ta? (except for Wham!)
I picked the greatest Weird Al Show in Sacramento.
That's right the greatest Weird Al Show in Sacramento.

The very next month I loaded up my car with Weird Al shirts and Weird Al beanies-
Grande tacos, twinkie wieners, mamas homemade pie 'o spam,
Pulled out of the driveway, and the neighbors, they all waved goodbye, and so began our whole day journey
We picked up a hamster holdin' a sign that said "Weird Al or Bust"
He smelled real bad and he said his name was Harvey

I Turned on the 80s polka station, my friend put on a bright pink hair net
Hamster was playing in his wheel- running forward while yellin' "Are we there yet"
and all of us were joined together in one common thought,
as we sung along with polkas of Mr. Big, Poison and Menudo
Were gonna see the greatest Weird Al Show in Sacramento
Were headin' for the greatest Weird Al Show in Sacramento

Finally at 747 early Tuesday evening, as the Dragon Swing was swinging And covering the Sacramento sky
Out in the distance it appeared to me like a vision- right behind the world's biggest pie
We parked the car and walked with awe-filled reverence toward that glorious huge majestic fair
I was just so amazed with all the excitement, I had to try and win myself a stuffed pear
Yes on these hallowed grounds tonight, in a large theater- Even worthy of Dr. Demento
We're going to see the Greatest Weird Al Show in Sacramento
I tell you, it's The Greatest Weird Al Show in Sacramento

Ohhh, how on earth can a man like him sing with such intensity
Ohhh, cranking out parody after parody
Who songs were he tryin' to sing?
Where did he get that dress?
How does he come up with such brilliant ideas
It's anybody's guess
What happened to his mustache?
Did he throw it in the trash?
Or is it buried with the rest in some secret stash?

Well, we walked up beside him, and I warned my friend,
"Now you better not touch him, those guards are there for a reason."
I said, "Maybe if you're good, I'll tie him to the back of our car, and we can take him home."
But I was only teasin'
Then we went to the autograph area and stood in line,
As we watched all the people drool and whine
Cuz they were only allowed a few precious moments with Al,
And people brought gifts: brand new ducks and other cheesy things
They were all trying to be his new best pal.

I gave my camera to Bermuda so we all gathered around and said "cheese"
Then Bermuda ran away with my brand new Al-O-Matic, but at least we have our memories.

When I met Al- I took out Harvey (Who'd been wating a while)
Al's eyes got moist, and he said (to the crowd) with a smile,
"Guys, this here's what being a fan is all about."
And all the people in line started feeling real jealous inside,
They all fell on their knees and cried and cried
and that's when those security guards threw them out

Well, we stayed that night at the State Fair Inn
In the morning we were on our way home again
but we really didn't wanna leave, that was perfectly clear
I said, "its obvious we're both sad to go."
Then I winked my eye and I said, "You know,
I got a funny kinda feeling he'll be comin' back again next year."

Cause I've been to state fairs around this great big world and I can't think an anywhere else I'd rather go
Than see The Greatest Weird Al Show in Sacramento
I said The Greatest Weird Al Show in Sacramento

Sacramento
Sacramento
Sacramento (you get the point)

Dale Method says:
Ah, there's nothing quite like the refreshing experience of seeing a quality performance by the likes of "Weird Al" Yankovic in Merrilville, In. It was great to be there when "Weird Al" Yankovic sang his/her song(s) Sagabegins and Yoda during the encore of the concert. The performer's band (no known file) was also woth mentioning. His/her bassist Steve Jay, his/her lead guitar Jim West, and his drummer Ruben Valtierra. The crowd was really into "Weird Al" Yankovic and were moshing it up all over the Star Plaza Theater on August 21, 1999. A good time was had by all in attendance at said event and venue. This is Method, Dale signing off.

Julie Gonzales says:
I must say out of all of the concerts and theatrical productions I have attended in the last 15 years there are only two singers that I have seen that sound better live in concert than on their recordings. Yes, Al is one of them. I must admit to being very surprised at how much I enjoyed his show.

Yes, I listen to his music and no I had never seen him in concert before. Al's cabaret like approach left me very happy and wanting more. I was impressed with the fact that he places enough faith either in his fans or in humanity in general to actually get off the stage and join the audience during "One More Minute," The constant costume changes blended with his TV and Film appearances made the entire show so much more real than anything generally out there today. Al is a true artist! And I LOVE the new look!

Dan Margalit says:
Touring With Scissors is comedy of biblical proportions. Whether Mr. Frump means nothing or everything to you, the show is sure to leave you in ditches. I mean 'stitches'. The video bits get funnier every time they get forced down our collective throats. Lippy lipy... or pipy sinky... Oh, that cracks me up. After the show, Al was incredibly gracious and patient with all of his fans. I had him sign a note that said: "Dear Dr. Demento, Please play Dan's music on your show. Frankly, I think it's better than anything I've ever done. Sincerely, Al." I don't think he understood at first that it was a joke, but he warmed up after he realized that I am a big fan. Hopefully Dr. D takes his word... Thanks to Al and the Band for a great night!
Dan Lea of Chippewa Falls, WI says:
Weird Al's concert in Chicago was very possibly the best concert I have ever been to. Before the show, my friend, Mike, pointed out that many of those in the audience were not yet born when we attended our first Weird Al show fifteen years ago. This made me feel old, but it also demonstrated the staying power of Al and the band. The coolest band in America put on the ultimate show. It exceeded my expectations, and they were pretty high. As always, the music is not only funny, but outstandingly well-performed. I could not have asked for a better concert experience. And going backstage was a dream come true. It was pretty hectic between shows, but a big thanks to Bermuda for taking care of us anyway, and to Al, for being truly gracious in a very busy time! In my opinion, "Running With Scissors" is the best Weird Al album yet. As the work of the Weird One becomes ever more popular, it makes those of us who caught on a long time ago feel Pretty Smug!
Mike Peloquin says:
The concert was nothing less then GREAT. Weird Al put on a show of a lifetime, the lights, the energy, and the songs were brought together for one fantastic evening. As I saw my first Weird Al concert fifteen years ago, I can tell by the number of people watching he is becoming more popular and popular. This is an experience I wont forget. If you havent seen the show, please treat yourself to a night of fun and laughter.

I've been a big fan of "Weird Al" since I was a greasy little kid watching his first videos on MTV. My friend Ryan played his new CD for me, I was blown away by how funny it was. With the new album on CD, I've started to re-purchase my Al library in digital format - those 15 year-old tapes just don't do Al's sweet voice justice! My girlfriend had never paid "Weird Al" much attention, but when she heard "All about the Pentiums" she was impressed by the vocal and musical talent . Ryan scored awesome 2nd row orchestra pit tickets, we'd been jamming to his music & anticipating the show for months. Finding out we won backstage passes & T-shirts through Bermuda's contest made us ecstatic! As if 2nd row wasn't enough we were going to meet "Weird Al" in the flesh!

The show was incredible!! A couple days before, Ryan and I saw Roger Waters, formerly of Pink Floyd, in concert; allow me to say that "Weird Al" is much much much funnier! It was my first time seeing "Weird Al" live, boy, what have I been missing all these years! You may have watched all the specials, seen UHF the day it came to a theater near you, listened to every album, taped every interview, seen all the videos - but I gotta tell you: the live experience completed me as a human being. The film clips between costume changes are hilarious! the pure cosmic energy Al puts forth on stage is enough to give you severe sun burn. He just keeps moving jumping, satirizing and parodying! His impression of Trent Reznor was dead on. I've seen NIN live too, and Al was scrubbing himself and rolling on the ground *exactly* like Trent. The band was great too - their sequencing during the Yoda chant was like clockwork. I have never seen anything like it before, and doubt I will ever again... until the next "Weird Al" show at least. It was a fantastic evening all around! My sole reason for living is to one day see "Weird Al" in concert again.

The night was very special too. That day the zodiac formed a perfect cross in the sky, and some astrologers said it was the beginning of the End Times or something. No - it was Bermuda's Birthday!! Ryan & I got him a card, which he was very grateful for. It was the least we could do, and now you have our autographs too, Jon! Meeting "Weird Al" was almost too much excitement for me. I managed not to swallow my tongue and squeak out a few words to him and shake his hand. Al is a very nice and patient man. As we left Music Hall some people shouted "Lucky jerks!" at us. I couldn't have put it better. Thank you, Bermuda & Al, for making me the luckiest jerk in Cincinnati.

Ryan Kearns says:
The show was giddily entertaining, and, at many times, laugh-out-loud funny. Ruben's cone-bra during the Truth or Dare version of "Like A Surgeon" was absolutely hysterical, as were the video clips shown while Al and the band were frantically changing costumes -- especially the segments "Dirt," "Dental Care," and the soon-to-be horror classic, "60 Percent Chance of Rain."

Al and the band's energy was absolutely mind-boggling, and the show itself was one I will not soon forget. I would also like to humbly thank Bermuda for being such a gracious host backstage after the show and for all of the great free Al merchandise. What stood out in my mind most was the way that Berm actually took the time to open and read a birthday card that myself and my friend Patrick picked up -- instead of casually tossing it aside like most other celebrities would do. Bermuda and Al, you guys are truly class-acts, and it was an honor getting the opportunity to shake your hands and have a few words with you. Thank you very much for an experience that I will never forget!

Stephanie Burns from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio says:
The great thing about this album and tour is that Al has really got it together. I have played "Running with Scissors" for many friends of mine who are not "Weird Al" fans. All of them within 2 minutes of playing any one of the songs on the new album comments, "Wow, Al has really has a great voice. I never noticed that before." The new album and tour both showcase a more mature and dynamic sound in Al's music and vocals. Not to say that I don't enjoy everything that Al has done before, but it is really exciting to watch him evolve.

The concert was packed full of energy. I have never seen any other band come close to this type of production and pull it off without lip synching. The band - Jon, Steve, Jim, and Rueben (especially with that dance number) did a fantastic job. The concert sounded just as good as the album, which is already an amazing piece of work. I don't know how Al is able to run all over the stage and never miss a mark. The costume changes are great, the videos are very funny and the show is just amazing to see.

I was fortunate enough to win a drawing and meet Al backstage for the first time in my life. It was very nice of Jon to coordinate the backstage passes and free tour clothing items, thank you. It was an honor to get to speak with Al personally. He was so tired (and rightfully so) and he still managed to be very gracious to his fans. Thank you Al for a great evening. ;-)

Jeff Hyatt says:
I've been to 20 or so different concerts in my 25 years on this great big ball of dirt and water. I've been back stage for at least 10. I've never had the privilege of meeting anyone as down to earth as the 5 of you. Anyone that can wear flip-flop sandals and a Hawaiian shirt while signing autographs with his foot behind his head, is a great guy in my book. Thanks for the awesome time guys. Sorry the letter is so messy, I had to type it left handed.
Marc Fannin says:
Since the comments already given by other winners echo my sentiments about Al (especially the response to the August 12 concert), I will emphasize the band's performance in my contribution.

As is well known, the songs that Al chooses to satirize, as well as his own compositions, run the gamut of popular musical styles. Performing these songs rapid-fire in a show like Al and the band put on requires skill, especially with the video interludes that run (it is essential to know where the cues for the songs are so that everybody starts playing in the right place together) and the costume changes. And once again, Al, Jim, Steve, Ruben, Jon, and the stage crew showed that they can do everything they need to do and make it seem easy, all the while putting on a very funny and entertaining show that fans and non-fans alike could sit back (or stand up) and enjoy. This particular show seemed to really fall into place, a view which Bermuda told me he shared after the show. The instrumental musicians played like an extension of Al himself, and the rhythm of the show was impeccably smooth (well, one person from the audience decided she wanted to dance with Al on stage, but what can you do?). It's too bad that so many people are so resigned to dismissing Al as just "that guy who makes fun of rock stars" that they overlook the absolutely professional performances like this one that come to life.

Thanks, guys!

Theresa Dougherty says:
Ummm... where do I begin? First of all, I wholeheartedly agree with everyone else's reviews! It was just an awesome night. The band played almost everything from RWS along with many of the classics... and they even threw in a couple new "concert-only" tunes. They were hilarious! Al and the guys changed costumes several times and while they did we were laughing our butts off with commercial parodies, UHF clips, and movie/tv show clips featuring Al. It was great to hear the entire crowd reciting along word for word! One amazing thing about this show is that it sounds just like the recordings... a definite plus in my book!

Our group had front row center stage seats and Al was eager to please by posing for pics right in front of us. He even came offstage once and serenaded a few lucky ladies. The whole band was into the show. There was a very deserved standing ovation and we chanted for Al to return, which he did. We remained on our feet for the last two songs and it was quite an ending to a 2+ hour show.

I have been a lifelong fan of Al's and it made my night (week, month, year, life... you get the point!) to meet him. Again, Al was happy to oblige his fans despite how tired he was... signing anything and everything, posing for pics, talking, and even putting his foot behind his head! I loved him before and I love him even more now after meeting him. He is so down-to-earth and relaxed, just a great guy. This is true about Steve, Jim, Ruben, and Bermuda too (Thanks again Bermuda for bending over backward to make sure we got everything!) Anyway, this is one concert any Weird Al fan shouldn't miss!

Karri Kulage says:
What can I say besides, ìAl is the greatest!î. This was my 6th ìWeird Alî concert, and he just never fails to amaze me. His energy is never-ending. He goes from song to song, nonstop. If heís not performing, heís changing into his next costume. He is so awesome! An added bonus of this concert was hearing old favorites from when I was a kid. He sang ìDare to be Stupidî, parts of ìI Love Rocky Roadî, ìAnother One Rides the Busî, and ìI Lost on Jeopardyî. And I never thought I would hear Al sing ìThe Night Santa Went Crazyî live, but it was thrilling to hear it! The new songs from ìRunning with Scissorsî were performed as if he had sung them forever. This was an experience I will never forget. If youíre thinking about seeing ìAlî, donít think any longer GO! Make your worthless life have meaning! Al is a genius!
Kristine Kulage says:
ìWeird Alî is like fine wine: he just keeps getting better with age. As entertaining, humorous, and down-right fun as it is obsessively listening to his CDs, it amazes me how much more awesome he is live in concert. ìWeird Alî is a superb performer in every way, his enthusiasm, his energy, he gives his all to 2 full hours of performing both new and classic parodies. Much of the time he re-enacts his videos and always stays in costume and character (Al gave particularly outstanding live character portrayals in ìItís All About the Pentiumsî, ìGermsî, ìLike a Surgeonî, and ìThe Saga Beginsî). This was my 3rd ìWeird Alî concert and they just keep getting better. And the band rocks! Itís obvious that everyone on stage is having a blast, and the audience does as well, most of the time singing along to every word in every song. Plus, the in between video clips are a riot! If Al did a 12-hour concert performing every song heís ever recorded, I would watch intently, being thoroughly entertained, and never bored for an instant. Now THAT would be a dream come true! I grew up with ìWeird Alî Yankovic and his parodies, and now in my adulthood, Al is one of the few constants. I have always loved Al, I always will, and I will never outgrow loving him and his songs or following his career. Al, you are THE GREATEST!!!
Keith Klein says:
Al and his band once again put on another amazing show!!! Between some of the songs, while Al was changing costumes, showed hilarious video clips. Some of them were from UHF and past ALTV episodes where he interviewed celebrities like Ozzy Osbourne and George Harrison. My favorite clip had to have been the one that involved proper dental care.

Al and the band played most of the songs off their latest CD. They rocked the house when he played "It's All About the Pentiums". They played a lot of the classic songs too, like "Eat It", "Like A Surgeon", "Addicted to Spuds", and of course "Another One Rides the Bus". There were a couple of songs that they played that can only be heard live in concert. One was a parody of Alanis Morrisette's "Thank U", and another one was of Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On", which included a mini-spoof of the movie "Titanic" that had Gloria Stewart in it. My favorite part of it was when Al asked Gloria, "Where is the jewel?" "Jewel? I don't think I have any of her CD's. I love Hanson." The crowd went nuts!!!!

The coolest part of the concert had to have been when Al announced that that night was his parents' anniversary. So, he called them up in between songs, and the audience screamed "Happy Anniversary" to them. Now, how cool was that?

Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone to see Al live in concert. It was both an audial and visual experience like no other.

Tony Simmons says:
If you are reading this, you're probably reading the "fan comments" page on the Weird Al website. Maybe you are wondering what other people think of the Touring with Scissors show.. regardless, you're a Weird Al fan. Don't deny it! You want to go this show! You need to go to this show! I encourage you to go! Al and the band are great live. Their performance puts every other concert I've seen to shame. You will not be disappointed!
Jason says:
I'm no Roger Ebert... (That's probably a plus for me) but I must say that his concerts have been the only ones I've seen and they were both great, but this one was better!!!. He was on for over 1 1/2 hrs. And like always (Both times) his concert only songs rocked!!! The medley was very cool. Some of those songs were totally unexpected. The interviews that he shows on the big screen were hilarious. It was just amazing how everybody in the audience seemed to know all the words to "The Saga Begins" and we (The audience) were singing right along with him. I don't want to spoil any surprises, but if you memorized the "Yoda Chant" *Bzzzz* try again. He added a couple extra (And very humorous) parts to it. There were about 50 people backstage and I'm surprised that he took time to talk with everyone back there. He's very calm was probably very tired, so I didn't talk to him as much as I would've liked to because I started feeling guilty about keeping him there too long. I have to say that even though I almost passed out when I was backstage, that I had a great time that I will never forget. Everyone who's going to the concert, you're in for a great great great show and if you ever find yourself lost in an existential quandering, just remember that there's a place called "www.WeirdAl.com"
Daniel Robbins says:
GREAT concert!!! What can I say that hasn't been said yet about his performance? I can say that I know that my life is now complete because I am on Weird Al's website!!! He was so enthusiastic and energetic. The video bits and fake interviews were hilarious. I especially enjoyed Dare To Be Stupid, and his song medly, which had 3 concert only songs in it! If I had the chance, I would go and see this concert 27 more times!!! Backstage, Weird Al was great and really nice. I definitely won't be forgetting that anytime soon... unless a pack of rabid woodchucks chase me off of a cliff and I get amnesia.

Bermuda, Thanks again for the autograph! Give my apologies to Al (My biological father) for harrassing him with our demos. But if he listened to them, he can feel free to email/mail/call me (or Jason) and let us know if he thinks we have any potential. Tell daddy that his son Daniel misses him. Thank you so much. This was the best thing that's happened to me in a LONG time. BTW, Jason and I are 17 year old twins... just in case you're wondering, and P.H.I.L. is our Drum Machine.

You and Al are GODS (I didn't get to meet Jim and Steve)

August 12, 1999 - Majestic Theater, North Tonawanda, NY

Geoffrey Golden says:
During the Weird Al concert at the Majestic Theater in North Tonowanda (Buffalo Lite) they showed quite a bit of video. Al has a costume change every couple songs or so, and the audience looks toward the screen for entertainment during these dark periods. One clip featured David Letterman holding up a picture of Al at the airport, explaining that "Weird Al Yankovic's status has been downgraded from weird to mildly unusual." The keen stand-up mind of Letterman accidentally came upon an interesting truth in regards to Al's music. He's no longer just a weird singer, to me he's a much more relatable comedian, pointing out things, making fun of people, acting dignified (for Al), and in general acting more like the satirists he admires so much.

The formula for his live performance has remained constant since I last saw him in '96. He plays some old favorites as well as tracks from his new album. Also, a few unrecorded parodies make their way on stage (i.e. Alanis Morissette saying "Thank You" to some fast food chains), and as I mentioned earlier, there are plenty of costume changes (Amish, Devo, Nirvana, and Fat outfits are all in the show) and video clips. Thanks to the intelligent sketch comedy he did on "The Weird Al Show," fans are also treated to some very funny movie and TV parodies they probably haven't seen before (I watched the show, so it was funny but nothing new to me).

Notice I use the word intelligent. He's becoming just that. Al performed two tracks from RWS that displayed this quality. In My Baby¼s In Love With Eddie Vedder, Al sinks his teeth into the world of obnoxiously whiny celebrities, and in Jerry Springer he sends up the mind numbingness of America's #2 talk show.

Don't get me wrong, I still think the classic Al stuff, the food and TV parodies, are very funny. Where would he be without them? But it's clear from his performance that for Al, his journey to Stan Freberg-dom has already started. Or, to put it another way, the saga has begun.

The performance yesterday (8/12) showed off Al's best feature-- his versatility. He¼s Fat, he¼s Obi-Won, he's crazy at times, clever at times, he's constantly mocking, and he always comes off as a nice guy, because that's what he is. And Al's second best feature? The bubble machine, of course.

Sean Crowell says:
This was, hands down, the most energetic and electrifying concert I ever had the privilege of witnessing. I really enjoyed the video footage played during the costume changes, they brought back a lot of great memories. The magic of Al's brilliance shined the entire evening. The band ROCKED! I can't wait until the next time I can see them. Keep up the good work. We love you guys!
His brother Jon adds:
What a genius "Weird Al" is!! Does everyone realize that he is the "only" person who could spoof a song AND a performance!!! (the classic egyptian-style performance of Madonna's "Like A Virgin" was done to Al's parody!!) You are amazing! Does everybody appreciate the mind at work here? Even the left-handed Kurt Cobain imitation by right-handed Al doesn't get past me! You are the master of your craft! And the group was equally as impressive. You guys sound flawless!! I even witnessed you winning over the security guard by mid-show. He was almost mocking us at first but he's probably telling all his buddies how great the show was. Countless costume changes and all, the greatest performance I've ever had the pleasure of going to!

August 8, 1999 - Hershey Park, Hershey, PA

Chris from Arbutus, MD says:
I entered my fiancee Angel into this contest without her knowing. Imagine my surprise when she gets an email saying that we won!! She was equally surprised! Well, this was a "free" show (included with Hersheypark admission) so you can imagine that the lines formed very early. We got in line for the second show right after the first one got seated, and we got pretty good position in line. We got front row seats on the right side of the stage. The show was very energetic, Al and the other band members really seemed to be enjoying themselves. There was quite a bit of music even though it was the short version of the show at about an hour. I haven't seen a concert that was this full of energy since the Ramones...I was half expecting Al to shout "One! Two! Three! Four!" between the songs in the medley. You just can't beat a day of chocolate and Weird Al. Thanks you guys for a great concert, and come down to Bawlmer sometime, hon!
Angel (Chris' fiancee) says:
The concert was great! It was very energetic and the quick wardrobe changes between songs was impressive. Al was so full of energy and he and the band did a wonderful job of engaging the audience, I half expected him to pull someone onto the stage at any point. The vocals were great, the harmonies came out and all of the voices sounded just like on the cd's (no electronic tampering with this groups voices).
Jim Bonomo says:
Why Weird Al Rocks So Hard...

Weird Al keeps it fresh to the max. Weird Al does three shows a day in the middle of nowhere for a packed house, and still has time to give respect to his rabid contest-winning fans. Weird Al still plays "Another One Rides The Bus", even though most people at the show weren't born yet when it came out. Weird Al can beat up Santa Claus and get applause (that rhymes!). Weird Al Rocks SO HARD, and don't you forget it! (We Love you Al! Thanks Bermuda, thanks again AL!)

Steven Shilling from Verona, NJ and Sandy Butler is from Woodbury, NJ say:
It was just like a Prince concert, only it was intentionally funny!!

Well, my wonderful friend Steve won this nifty contest, and was enough of a sweetie to bring me along. We got to see all three shows, which were all amazing. We had lousy seats the first time and the second time we had to watch the show from the line. Though really we could see better from there than from our first seats. Since we were in line the whole time we got front row for show three. We were so close I got genuine Al spit on me. Al put so much in that concert. All the guys did, it was great. Then we got to meet them. Which basically sent me into hysterics. I actually went totally numb and felt dizzy. Some guy named Mark held me up. (Thanks Mark!) and Al gave me a hug!! AND STEVE JAY PICKED ME UP AND CARRIED ME AROUND!!! It was so cool. Now my only dilemma is which is my favorite part, a hug from Al, or carried by Steve Jay.....decisions, decisions, decisions....

Joe Coughlin from Croydon says:
How does Al do it? This was the second in his grueling three concert day at HersheyPark and he was not only standing, but he was doing so without visible means of support. Al, Steve, Jim, Bermuda and Ricky Martin...er, I mean, Ruben, gave it 100% for their frenetic, hour-long set. Al, Bermuda and Ruben were also the nicest guys in the world. (Someone tell Ruben that he is loved by the people hanging outside the backstage door!). Musical highlight: "The Saga Begins" followed by "Yoda", all that is needed is another Star Wars song and you'll have a trilogy. Backstage highlight: Al mentioning that he liked Jay and Silent Bob. Can he be any cooler? Well, yes, but right now, he's in record territory! Thanks Al and Bermuda! I'll be back for more!
Andrew from Croydon adds:
Al didn't show any signs of fatigue onstage as he performed his second of three shows to a packed theater at the amusement park. Utilizing a projection screen, clever bits of video (some from UHF and some from Al's videos) swirled seamlessly with the live band for an engrossing start for many of the songs. I was personally surprised with the way Al and his band pleased the most age diverse crowd I've ever seen. I loved the performance of the "Another One Rides the Bus". In person Al was obviously tired, but still the nice guy he projects himself to be. One request for Al: take it easy, man, your fans need you to do this the rest of your life.

August 7, 1999 - Cape Cod Melody Tent, East Hyannis, MA

Erwin says:
The show was fantastic. The way Al and the band mixed costume changes and just straight out jammin' was great. He started the show with about 5 to 10 minutes of straight music, then began the "Commercial Breaks" (that were extremely funny!) which gave time for the costume changes. The blending in of the costumes from the "commercials" was flawless. The best part of the show was, by no doubt, the unreleased songs. Alanis Morissette and Celion Deion never sounded any better. We need a Concert Video released so the whole world can see the genius of "Weird Al" and the band.

After the show was the greatest. Bermuda came out, called my name out, my wife and I were speechless. We were going to meet the cast and crew who put on the greatest concert experience ever. Everyone was understandably tired, an hour and a half of non-stop entertainment has got to be exhausting. But, all were still upbeat and smiling. Al was outstanding, he talked with everyone signed autographs, gave my wife a hug and wished us a Happy Anniversary.

Trapezoid-ya says:
Well, putting it simply, it was great! I loved it, and so did my family and friends. Weird Al must work his butt off day after day, but he still remains as nice as possible. When I found out I won the Join Al Backstage contest, my sister and her friend cried, but they were absolutely psyched when they were let to meet him too. All in all, it was a great first-concert experience for us, with no cons! Awesome!
Jamie Loader says:
Amazing...I've never laughed so hard and been so impressed in one show!!!, from the muti-media assault...to the costumes...an outstanding performance !!! One of the most underated musical talents ever!!! Al Rocks !!!"

August 5, 1999 - Warwick Musical Theater, Warwick, RI

Joe Roy says:
Back in May when the Box Office opened my mom got four tickets; one for me, herself, and my friends Luke and Evan. When I found out about the Join Al Backstage contest I entered and had my friends enter, thinking maybe one of us would win and we would get to meet the band. And guess what...two of us did win, me and Evan.

I thought the concert was great, the most fun I've ever had. There's nothing like seeing Al and his band performing great music right before your eyes. The costumes were great, especially the Fat one. And there were also great video clips from the Weird Al Show and UHF and ALTV. But one of the best parts was when he gurgled the water in Smells Like Nirvana, he threw the water that was left in the cup into the audience and I got wet! Thanks Al, Bermuda, Jim, Steve, and Ruben for a great evening!

Evan says:
The concert was incredible, I had a blast, you were perfectly timed on the percussion and the whole band was completely together. Al's voice sounded great, even without mastering. I loved the show, it was definitely the way I would like to remember my first concert experience, thank and have a great tour

August 3, 1999 - Westbury Music Fair, Westbury, NY

Carla DeAngelis says:
Weird Al is hilarious. This was my first Weird Al concert and it was EXCELLENT. He is very energetic and always keeps moving!

I got to meet Weird Al after the show and he is such an enjoyable person to be around. He is one of the few artists out there who would be willing to stay so long after his concert to sign autographs. I also got to meet Jon "Bermuda" Schwartz, who is a really nice, down-to-earth guy.

I can't wait until Weird Al comes back to New York!

Joe DeAngelis adds:
As usual, Al, Bermuda, and the rest of the band put on a spectacular show. The on-stage mayhem is perfectly complemented by a variety of entertaining video clips and special effects. The band obviously pours a ton of effort into each concert, resulting in what truly is a "multimedia extravaganza"!

I strongly urge everyone (even you horrible, horrible people who aren't loyal Al groupies) to attend at least one Weird Al concert. I guarantee you'll find it even more entertaining than An Evening With Paul Anka.

Eric Ruys says:
Raise your spatulas to The Waffle King! Al proves that the best can get better. The band was tight and the music was loud! Even better than a jellybean and pickle sandwich!

August 1, 1999 - Waterloo Village Concert Tent, Stanhope, NJ

Jim Lombardi says:
I think someone might be ripping Al's songs off... I was at hockey game a couple of years ago, and I heard My Bologna come up over the loudspeakers. You know, like they do in-between periods. But then the singer comes in, and it's not Al! It was some cheap copy. Something about a Sharona. So I looked into it, and found this band who put a cheap copy out of Al's song. So I wondered if anybody else had heard about these cheap knockoffs. I looked into it and I found that almost ALL of Al's songs had been copied by some cheap pirates, often years before he came out with his! Example: even Paul McCartney, remember Chicken Pot Pie? Think about it... Live And Let Die?? Now McCartney ripped this off about a year before Al came out with his. So the question is, is Al being bugged? And I think this is not fair, cause Al spends years sometimes writing these songs!
John Torhan from Morristown says
Great show! The band is incredibly tight, awesome costumes, but one criticism: only one lousy drum solo! More drum solos! We drummers get the short end of the stick!

July 31, 1999 - Hampton Beach Casino, Hampton Beach, NH

Seth "Whonose" Noseworthy says:
Another stunning show by the world's most versatile band. Twice as much as any band should be, and all I aspire to be.

Very energetic, wide ranging musical superiority.

Thanks for teaching my poodle to fly, keeping me safe, and singing an Indian drum solo.

Jeremy says
Great concert. I had a lot of fun. For my first concert I couldn't have picked a better show. I loved the costumes too.

July 30, 1999 - I.C.Light Amphitheatre, Pittsburgh, PA

Jyl Deshler says:
Sat in the 12th row back and I still can't hear! It was AWESOME, I swear! I loved it! And I would like to know how he can change costumes that fast!
Catra says:
As I sit here in Jon's lap, I am reminded of my extraordinary web site... wait a minute, I've just been told I am not allowed to promote my web site. So I guess I'll talk about the concert. Unlike reviews of other RWS concerts, this one was surprisingly well-received by the audience. And Al and the band continued to amaze the fans, old and new.

This is Catra heading for the tub and signing off!

July 28, 1999 - The Palace Theater, Myrtle Beach, SC

Kirk Traxler says:
AL is a musical god...with a little "G" of course. The tightest band in the business. His shows get better every tour. I pray to the music god that his next tour brings him south again...
Bradd Parton says:
This was the highlight of my summer. The band was tight and Al was brilliant. More fun than Christmas in July!

July 25, 1999 - North Shore Music Theatre, Beverly, MA

David Fisher of Waltham, MA says:
If you are a fan of every Al album, AL-TV show, movie, talk show appearance, book, magazine article, and random Al sighting, you'll LOVE the live show! Anything that Al has ever done is fair game to be seen, heard or enjoyed during the concert. Video screens show clips and videos, the band rocks on, and you easily get a night of Al for a fair price. You can't beat it! (Or should I say, Eat It :) )
Brooke Jenkins says:
The concert was great. My brother Scott made my entire family come here from Connecticut to watch the concert. I've never seen him before in concert, and I was surprised at how many costume changes he had. All his screen intros were really appropriate for the next song. He's a comic genius!

July 23, 1999 - Jackson County Fair, Central Point, OR

Eric Adams says:
Awesome!!!! That's what comes to mind after watching "Weird Al" in concert. The show is great for the songs you know, and the songs you've never heard before. Just one more thing to say: DRUM SOLO!!!!! If you don't know, then you have to go.
Shannon Adams says:
I loved the show and I'm sure the second show is going to be better. I loved " I'm Fat" the costume was awesome and "The Saga Begins"

AL ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amanda says:
Al was totally down to earth and nice. I've always been a big fan and, after this concert and backstage meeting, he's even more kick ass! My brother, Aaron, thinks so, too. The coolest day of my life.

July 21, 1999 - Orange County Fair, Costa Mesa, CA

Mike Runnestrand says:
Al, Jon, Steve and Jim truly are the Jesus and Apostles of our day - except they wear clean clothes and play better music!
Tony "Bologna Boy" Goldmark from San Francisco says:
One word - WOW! Some more words... me and my mom drove all the way from San Francisco to Orange County just to see this show. We got to the fair about 6 hours before they let us in, so we stood there for 6 hours. The bad news is, we got sore feet and we ridiculed a little by passers-by, but the great news is we were one of the first people in line, and got GREAT seats for the first show!

Al was totally awesome, and still as full of energy and agility as ever. I was surprised to see songs like Dare To Be Stupid, Money For Nothing/Beverly Hillbillies, and The Night Santa Went Crazy in the show, which I absolutely did not expect! I also met Al backstage where he was as nice as ever. Al rocks and I hope he keeps on rocking forever!!

Alex from Long Beach, CA says:
The show was absolutely amazing, definitely a must-see! The new costumes and the light show definitely works out to make it a great experience for anyone and everyone. Bring the kids!
